Nexa Node and QT Wallet Users Urged to Update to the Latest Software Release (1.3.0.0)

13 de mayo de 2023

We are excited to announce the launch of our latest software package, version 1.3.0.0, and we encourage all Nexa Node and QT Wallet users to migrate to this upgraded version. The new software can be easily downloaded from our website at https://nexa.org/node.

This release introduces several significant changes aimed at enhancing user experience and addressing common challenges faced by our community. Among the notable updates is the addition of UTXO auto consolidation, specifically designed to prevent errors encountered when attempting to send over 256 inputs, which is particularly beneficial for miners. With the new wallet, auto-consolidation is seamlessly integrated, streamlining the process for users. Additionally, we have incorporated an option to reindex at startup, eliminating the need for users to run commands through the command prompt when facing sync or database reading issues.

Key highlights of the latest software release include:

  • Consolidate() rpc: This feature caters to exchanges and all users alike, allowing for efficient UTXO management. The command follows the syntax “consolidate 256 5000,” where the first parameter represents the number of UTXOs to retain, and the second parameter denotes the maximum number of UTXOs to consolidate.
  • Consolidate feature for QT users: By default, the -wallet.auto option is enabled for QT users, ensuring automatic consolidation. The wallet consolidates only the necessary number of UTXOs to fulfill the send amount, selecting them in ascending order from smallest to largest during transaction construction. However, if users access coin control, the auto-consolidate feature is bypassed, and only the selected coins are utilized. Users have the flexibility to disable this feature through the options menu.
  • Reindex option: To simplify the troubleshooting process, we have introduced a reindex option under Options->main->reindex checkbox. Enabling this option will trigger a reindexing process during the next startup, helping users resolve any coin cache database errors encountered.
  • Enhanced error handling: In the event of a coins cache database error, users will now find the reindex option conveniently accessible within the error dialog, facilitating a swift resolution.
  • Streamlined configuration: To ensure a seamless experience, nexa.conf will now be automatically generated at startup if it is not already present, reducing manual configuration requirements.
  • Expanded language support: We have made significant additions to our translation files, enabling comprehensive translations for French, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Afrikaans, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Danish, Turkish, and Portuguese languages.
  • Bug fixes: As always, we have addressed various bugs and resolved underlying issues, improving the overall stability and performance of the software.

To visually showcase the added functionalities, we have included a few screen shots below. It is important to note that auto-consolidation will be enabled by default, ensuring a seamless and efficient user experience.

We strongly encourage all Nexa Node and QT Wallet users to upgrade to the latest version (1.3.0.0) by downloading it from our website at https://nexa.org/node. By migrating to this new release, users will benefit from enhanced features, improved stability, and a more streamlined experience.
