Important Update: The NEXA Hackathon BUIP201 Postponed to Q2 2024 with Team Changes

January 29, 2024

Dear Nexa Community,

We hope this message finds you well. We have some important news to share regarding the BUIP201: Nexa 1st Hackathon, an event we’ve all been eagerly anticipating. While the excitement for the hackathon remains as strong as ever, we’ve encountered some changes within our team that have prompted us to reconsider our timeline and make necessary adjustments to ensure the event’s success.

Firstly, we want to assure everyone that the Nexa Hackathon is not canceled but simply postponed to the second quarter (Q2) of 2024. We understand that many of you have been looking forward to participating, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, we believe this decision is necessary to ensure that the event aligns with our core values of excellence and inclusivity.

Team Changes:

Paul Church and Martin, who have been instrumental in the development and planning of the hackathon, have decided to step down from their roles within the team. We sincerely thank Paul and Martin for their dedication and contributions to Nexa and wish them the best in their future endeavors.

On the bright side, we are pleased to introduce two new members who have joined our team: Dolaned and Endo. Both Dolaned and Endo bring a wealth of experience and expertise that will help us revamp and enhance the hackathon experience for all participants.

Re-planning and Rethinking:

With these changes in mind, we are taking this opportunity to thoroughly review and reassess our hackathon’s management and execution plans. Our goal remains the same: to provide an exceptional platform for builders, developers, and creators to innovate and showcase their talents on the Nexa blockchain.

The additional time will allow us to refine our processes, gather valuable feedback from the community, and make necessary improvements to ensure the hackathon exceeds everyone’s expectations. We are committed to creating an event that not only fosters innovation but also promotes a sense of unity within the Nexa ecosystem.

Extending period for applications:

To ensure the event’s success and to accommodate the adjustments we’re making, we are extending the application period for participants until Q2 of 2024. This extension will give more teams the opportunity to join us in this exciting journey. We encourage all developers, creators, and enthusiasts to spread the word and gather teams for the Nexa Hackathon.

Applicants please contact us via email: [email protected]

Your Role:

We believe that our community is at the heart of Nexa’s success, and your involvement is crucial. We encourage you to stay engaged, share your ideas, and provide us with your valuable insights as we work towards rescheduling and enhancing the Nexa Hackathon.

We understand that this may come as a surprise, but we firmly believe that these changes will ultimately result in a more robust and rewarding hackathon experience for all. We appreciate your understanding and support as we embark on this journey of improvement.

Stay tuned for further updates, as we will keep you informed about the new dates and any exciting developments surrounding the Nexa Hackathon in the coming weeks.

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for Nexa. Together, we will make the Nexa Hackathon an unforgettable event in the world of blockchain innovation.

Warm regards, the Nexa team.

Cancellation policy

In the unexpected event that we do not receive enough applications to fill the maximum capacity of team seats, the hackathon can be canceled. We anticipate the hackathon starting in the Q2 of the 2024 (subject to unforeseen events). This allows sufficient time to finalize the cancellation agreement with the respective teams.
